Alright, so I’d better just dive into it: “Andron” is definitely one of those films that leaves you scratching your head a bit. It’s like a mix between “Hunger Games” and “Maze Runner,” but with a budget that feels, well, let’s say tighter än min gamla vinterjacka.

So, the plot—or what I think is the plot—revolves around this mysterious maze and a group of folks who are trying to escape it. These characters, they’re like cutouts from a stack of sci-fi clichés. You’ve got your strong silent type, your brainy nerd, and of course, the token good-looking leader. I mean, det är inget fel med det in principle, but it’s hard to get attached when they’re so predictable.

The special effects? I’m kinda torn. Some moments really shine, especially considering they probably didn’t have Marvel’s pocketbook. But then, now and then, you get this scene that looks like it stepped straight out of an early 2000s computer game. Maybe I’ve just been spoiled by too many big-budget blockbusters, but it felt a tad uneven.

Now the acting… oh boy. Alec Baldwin turns up, and I can’t help but think, “Vad gör du här, Alec?” His scenes feel detached, like he filmed them in a totally different room. Which, let’s face it, he probably did. I found myself more amused by guessing where he’d pop up next than actually following the narrative.

One funny thing: The concept of a maze where you constantly get evaluated kinda reminded me of när jag var en liten grabb på Gröna Lund and thought the Fun House was actually a survival test. A bit melodramatic, I know, but hey, kids’ imaginations, right?

So yeah, “Andron” is a bit of a mixed bag. It’s like when you buy lösgodis and half of it is your favorites, but the other half is those weird licorice things. Major kudos to them for trying something different though. If you’re into dystopian vibes and don’t mind an uneven ride, kanske det är något för dig.
