Alright folks, let’s dive right into Boyka: Undisputed, the fourth installment in the Undisputed series. I gotta tell ya, this film packs a punch, quite literally. Now, if you’re into martial arts and a no-nonsense approach to storytelling, this might just be your cup of tea—or should I say, ‘fika’?

Boyka, played by Scott Adkins, is a beast. Seriously, this guy has moves that made me spill my kaffe the first time I saw that spinning kick. The plot? Well, it’s simple, really. Boyka is trying to get his life back on track, fighting his way out of trouble while dealing with his past demons. Think of it as Rocky meets Gladiator, but with more broken bones.

Now, while the fights are choreographed beautifully—they do sometimes overshadow the story. But hey, that’s what we’re here for, right? The sheer athleticism and choreography are enough to make any action junkie’s heart race.

There’s one scene, I’ve gotta tell ya, where Boyka faces off against a giant of a man in an underground ring. It took me back to a time when I tried muay thai down at the local gym. Thought I was gonna be the next big thing; turns out, getting punched in the face hurts, a lot. But watching Boyka made those memories flood back, with a smile this time.

But, and here’s a but—I sometimes felt the supporting characters were a bit flat. They’re almost like those cardboard cutouts you see in novelty stores. Lady, Ladislav, Alma… they didn’t quite do it for me. More depth would’ve been nice, maybe a subplot or two. Something to chew on between the fights.

All in all, Boyka: Undisputed is a adrenaline-pumping ride. It’s not gonna win any Oscars, but if you love action, it’s like a blast of fresh air. Or, perhaps, a cold plunge in a Swedish lake—a shock to the system, but oh-so-invigorating.
