Crash, Bang, Oops?

Alright, folks! Today we’re getting stuck into “Collision”. Directed by the talented Paul Haggis, the dude knows how to tug at your heartstrings and make you wonder about life and all its messiness. The film stars the likes of Sandra Bullock and Don Cheadle – both bringing that raw energy we love so much. It’s a bit of a mind-bender, to be honest. You’re hopping from one storyline to another, and just when you think you’ve got it all figured out, bam! Another twist.

You ever sit down to a Smörgåstårta with friends and talk about some random car accident you witnessed over the weekend? That’s the vibe! These interconnected stories about race, class, and the unpredictable nature of life really hit home. Haggis manages to keep you on your toes, but maybe, just maybe, a bit too much. By the end of it, I was kinda exhausted. I’m not sure if it was just the emotional rollercoaster or the way it wrestled with some pretty hefty themes.

Let me tell you a quick story. Years back, I was in Stockholm, just minding my own business, when… Whoops! Got into a fender-bender. Funny thing is, the chap I crashed into ended up becoming a good mate of mine. We still laugh about it. Collision sorta has the same vibe; how lives crash together in unexpected ways.

But let’s be honest, while the film is packed with stellar performances, at times it felt like trying to balance a pyramid of kanelbullar on your head. A bit wobbly! Would I watch it again? Sure, but maybe not on a Friday night when I’m looking for something light.

A film for thought and for anyone who’s ever wondered about the twists of fate. Give it a go—just keep a coffee handy, you might need it!
