Hey there, movie buffs! So, I just watched *Ring of Fire*. And wow, this film is like taking a bite of surströmming—not everyone’s cup of tea, but definitely memorable.

First off, the visuals. It’s like watching a midsommarnatt while sipping on a cold öl. The fiery landscapes are both menacing and tantalizing, drawing you in just like the mischievous spirits in our old Swedish folktales. But the storyline—well, that’s where I feel a bit split. It’s kind of like that time I tried baking a kanelbulle without enough butter—a little dry in parts. Sure, it’s got moments that capture your heart, but some scenes just drift without much direction.

Johnny Cash’s tale is iconic, and this film tries to ring true to it (pun intended). I think they did justice with the music and his tumultuous love story—it resonates like an echoing voice in a Göteborg tunnel. But then there are parts where I’m not sure if I’m invested or just watching out of habit, like during a long svenskt vintertid.

Do you know, when I was a kid, sitting on my morfar’s lap in Värmland, he’d play Cash’s records, and we’d watch the snow fall, imagining the world beyond? This film brought a piece of that nostalgia back, which is always a plus.

Now, I won’t say it’s a must-watch, but if you fancy an evocation of the music legend’s life mixed with a bit of hedershög weirdness, give it a whirl. Just bring something to snack on—lagom, of course, for those meandering moments.
