Hey guys,

So, I finally got around to watching “Take Care.” It’s this quirky little rom-com about Frannie, a woman who breaks her leg and then expects her ex-boyfriend to, well, take care of her. Yeah, you heard that right. The plot is as bonkers as it sounds, but it’s got this strange mix of charm and WTF moments.

First off, Leslie Bibb as Frannie is just a riot. It’s like she’s channeling every klutzy heroine from every rom-com ever, but with this raw, vulnerable twist. You almost feel like she’s one of those characters you’d meet at a fika, spilling coffee all over herself but still managing to crack you up with stories about her chaos. But hey, maybe that’s just me. I remember this one time, Johan and I were camping somewhere out by Öland, and I accidentally burnt the toast. He cared for me despite my absolute ineptitude at all things camping. Felt a bit like Frannie I guess.

Thomas Sadoski, playing the ex-boyfriend, is as complex as a knäckebröd, which is either a good thing or just plain confusing. There’s this scene where he’s trying to juggle his new relationship while helping Frannie, and it’s so awkward that I couldn’t help but laugh out loud. It’s like watching someone try to balance a smörgåstårta on a unicycle. You’ve got to see it to believe it.

Now, the pacing. Uff. That’s where “Take Care” fumbles a bit. Some scenes drag on longer than a winter night in Kiruna. You know they’re trying to build something, but it just feels like you’re waiting for the bus in the middle of nowhere. Maybe it’s the script, maybe it’s just me, but there were definitely moments where I was tempted to fast forward.

However, I can’t deny the film’s surprising depth. Underneath all the slapstick and absurdity, there’s a pretty raw look at dependency and what it really means to be there for someone. It’s relatable, especially if you’ve ever had to rely on someone when you’re at your lowest. Could be your mother, could be your best buddy from gymnasiet, but we’ve all been there.

All in all, “Take Care” is a mixed bag. It’s like lösgodis; you get the sweet, the weird licorice, and sometimes those epic bubs. Check out the trailer here
