Hej folks, grab a coffee and let’s dive into this film I just watched – “The Haunting of Molly Hartley.” Now, this flick’s got its ups and downs, like riding a roller-coaster that you thought was scary but ends up being just okay.

The film follows young Molly who tries to start anew despite demons lurking around. I tell you, as soon as it started, I couldn’t help but think of that time I moved to kiselgränd in Uppsala. I was sure the neighbors were plotting against me—turns out, they just wanted to borrow my lawnmower. Anyway, Molly’s dealing with high school drama and supernatural evil, which, as you might imagine, packs a punch of excitement… sometimes.

Visually, the film’s got some neat tricks, creepy settings that make your skin crawl. I could almost smell autumn leaves and feel a chill down my spine. But, åh herregud, sometimes the plot gets tangled like Christmas lights in the attic. So, the suspense? It’s a bit all over the place, to be honest. Maybe it’s just me, but the jumpscares felt more like hiccups – unexpected, yes, but not quite heart-racing.

One thing I liked, though, was the teenage angst – felt aika authentic. We’ve all been there, worrying about fitting in or carrying heavy pasts. And Molly’s struggles with her parents? Well, it reminded me of those long nighttime chats with my mamma over a fika.

But… I guess it’s one of those films where you aren’t sure if you’re scared or just confused. Would I watch it again? Probably not, but if you’re into a spooky high school vibe, it might be worth a watch on a dark October evening.
